Donald Trump could be an American Hero
A foreign power interfered in our democracy. The CIA knows it. The FBI knows it. Donald Trump knows it.
A foreign power interfered in our democracy. The CIA knows it. The FBI knows it. Donald Trump knows it.
This unprecedented act of aggression opens up a unique opportunity for Donald Trump to become an American hero of the greatest magnitude.
How? Mr. Trump would make a joint statement with President Obama and emphatically state that the United States will not tolerate foreign government interference in our elections. He would call for the current president to extend his term by a few months (or for Paul Ryan to take over but that is not the point and complicates things) and hold a new vote on January 20th. Rather than an inauguration, we would have a new election. Winner takes office in March.
Trump might win again. He might not.
Either way, he would have clearly placed our democracy above himself. He would be firmly established as a servant to the people rather than a potential stooge of Russia.
He would be putting America first in the purest sense of the phrase. No matter what the new vote says, Trump is a hero.
If he were to win again, his mandate would be unquestionable and his legitimacy cemented in the bedrock of this nation. His leverage in deals is immense and he is far more effective as President.
If he were to lose, this call for new elections and the defense of American Democracy would elevate his brand to legendary status and place the Trump family name next to the founding fathers, Lincoln and other heros of our country’s past. He would achieve this status quickly and forever be remembered as the man who saved the American experiment.
After some time managing unimaginable global media attention, he and his children could bow out to leverage his fame to grow his businesses around the world. Trump wield incredible influence and moral authority without the constraints that come with being the leader of the free world.
It works out for everyone — especially Trump and his family.
